About AlexMurray
Hey all. I’m Alex. I play drums for an industrial band, Pinionist.
I’ve been playing since I was 12 for 8 years now and have been a top-8 finalist for the Billy Hyde Playoffs in 2004 and 2005. I currently getting a degree in Sound Composition and Production at the University of Wollongong.
At the moment, my main setup is a RCI kit: 22 kick, 10 12 toms and 14 16 floor toms. The kit is clear with RCI lugs and RIMS mounting system. My snare is a Brady Jarrah ply Blackheart but I hope to try out a Jeff Ocheltree RCI snare. I also play with DW 5000 pedals and 9000 hardware, Paiste Signature cymbals (21 dark full ride, 13 dark crisp hats, 17 & 19 full crash, 19 power crash and an 18 2002 Novo china) and Evans drumheads (EQ3/EQ4 combo on kick, G2/G1 on toms and HD Dry/Hazy 300 on the snare).

Hi mate,
Can you e-mail some photos to me of you playing your RCI drums please? They’ll be added to the RCI UK MySpace site for all to be jealous of :-)

Hey Alex,
Hope all’s well, how’s the kit? Check out our new video on YouTube:

It’s our live performance of “Songbird in the Rain” filmed at “Sunday for Sammy 2008” at Newcastle City Hall! Awesome!
Cheers,
Adam.
P.S. – That’s Ray Laidlaw’s (from Lindisfarne) kit we were all sharing for the night
