I don't tie myself down to any musical genres, I'm very open and listen to everything from reggae to prog rock. I've never been much of a technique guy, It makes no difference to me if the next drummer can do a tripple paradiddle twice as fast as me, or whatever. I am more into the groove side of things. I could never sit doing rudiments everyday for hours, I'm far too lazy for that! I just try to concentrate on the mood of the song and use my own creativity to convey my personality through the kit. I like drummers who have thier own sound, when you know its them playing within the first ten seconds of a song. Drummers like John Bonham, Chad Smith, Taylor Hawkins, Stewart Copeland. Thats what I strive to achieve my 'own' sound.
I play in a band called 'The Zoo'.
We do orignal material, sorta Kings of leon meets Zeppelin type stuff. We have supported Dirty sanchez's live show, played in Kosovo for the troops there, are due to play in the falklands and italy in the next few months.
My RCI kit:

22" x 18" Bass Drum
12" x 10" Tom Tom
16" x 16" Floor Tom
I've always played big drums, big cymbals and still have big bonham sized kits, This kit is a bit more practical and still gives a nice open 'bonhamy' sound without being too uncontrollable.
I've had a sonor acrylic kit in the past and this knocks spots off it both sound wise and looks wise. I can't wait to tour with it.
