Scott Hunter & his new RCI kit

Scott Hunter & his new RCI kit With Larry Miller, Hexagon Theatre, Reading, UK, November 2007 The RCI kit live in Christchurch, UK. RCI Kit live in Worcester

Weeeelll folks, my musical journey has taken me to some exciting places right enough - sessioning with enduring prog-folkers Jethro Tull in '91, with 70's hitsters Mungo Jerry, and top Blues guitarist Larry Miller to name a few. Other memorable encounters with Tim Harries (Steeleye Span/Bill Bruford), Italian prog rock legends Analogy/Earthbound, Christian artiste Helen Jayne McKellar and many others have given me an eclectic mixture of styles to get my sticks around over the years! Better mention my long suffering buddies, the uk Blues Project too. ... I'm currently to be found manning the drum stool for Larry Miller, THE most exciting British Blues/Rock guitarist out there right now. We've been out with Johnny WInter and Walter Trout of late and these guys know what they're about! Walter namechecked Laz within the first minute of his set the other night at the Cheese And Grain (great venue btw) - an Awwwesome guitarist! Too right, Walt. Hope to meet some of you RCI brethren out there soon. just wait til you get a load of my new kit.....

Hi mate,

Can you e-mail some photos to me of you playing your RCI drums please? They'll be added to the RCI UK MySpace site for all to be jealous of :-)

Thanks and all the best,
Adam.

I do love my buzzwords :-)

Any news on the new kit?

Cheers,
Adam.

The details of your new kit sound tasty! Looking forward to seeing it :-)

The G Plus heads sound interesting. Checked out a few articles on the net. They'll sound great on the toms, excellent recommendation!!

I've just put an EC Reverse Dot snare batter head on, and what a great sound it's giving me! Focussed, fat, full of attack, and nicely sensitive.

Hey Scott!!!! Thanks for checking in!! Always good to meet the other players!! The drumset that's up right now is no more. I'm in the process of putting together a whole new kit. I think you will find this very interesting cuz it's like nothing I've created before. Been working on it for the last three weeks! The set that's up right now will be featured in a full page ad next issue of Drumhead. Talk soon!! JohnnyC P.S. Really like the pic of your kit from the floor tom side!! Very awesome!!!!!

Hi Scott,

Thanks for reading my review, and for your comments. EMAD heads are definitely a route i'm going to go down when I change my current batter head.

Checked out Larry Miller's site, and you must relish every night playing behind such an amazing guitarrist! Enjoy Germany, and keep us all posted with your goings on.

All the best,
Adam.

Hey Scott,

Hope all's well, how's the kit? Check out our new video on YouTube:

It's our live performance of "Songbird in the Rain" filmed at "Sunday for Sammy 2008" at Newcastle City Hall! Awesome!

Cheers,
Adam.

P.S. - That's Ray Laidlaw's (from Lindisfarne) kit we were all sharing for the night

Thanks for hitting me up!

I've used EC2 heads on my rack and floors, and they sound ace. Trying G2 Coated Tom heads right now for a different sound. They're sounding pretty good, though i'll know for sure when i've played them in.

How does your kick sound with the standard RCI head? Must sound very punchy, open and full.

All the best,
Adam.
